Organizational Structure:
The Design Assistant, Women’s Soft Wovens reports directly to the Director, Women’s Design, Soft Wovens.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in concept and research development for seasonal deliveries
• Update line sheets and facilitate work flow as needed.
• Create flat mechanical and hand sketches for all soft woven presentation boards and tech packs.
• Attend fittings and keep records as related to updated styles and tech packages.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with cross functional partners as needed.
• Evaluate and maintain pertinent files and records, databases and other records.
• Review Sketches with Design Director and create tech packages.
• Assist in the sourcing and approval of fabric samples, lab dips, strike-off's and other development materials.
• Provide support and assist the Women’s Soft Wovens Division, during peak seasonal deliveries.
• Responsible for organizing and maintaining periodicals, artwork, garments and trims.
• Follow up and coordinate all ongoing projects in order to meet stated deadlines.
• Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested.
Qualifications:
• Must have a two-year AAS or College degree in Design
• Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Women’s Soft Wovens Design
• Must have excellent working knowledge of excel, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication.
• Must be a team player, have ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and take initiative
• Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to meet all objectives and allow the various initiatives of the Design department to be accomplished in a timely manner.
• Must be detail oriented individual and a strong self-starter.
• Must be able to take direction. This position requires incumbent to establish effective work relationships across multiple levels and functions.
• Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
