Company is looking for a strong analytical team player to join our Wholesale Operations team! The primary role of the Demand Planner is to support the development of the demand forecast by working closely with sales management and the Territory Managers. A high degree of accuracy is more important as this forecast drives what is bought for each selling season. You will adjust the forecasts constantly based on incoming data, trends and consumer/TM feedback. You will also adhere to a bookings forecast calendar and make adjustments based on adherence to these deadlines. This role will work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Sourcing and Finance.
Core Accountabilities:
• Uses Demand Manager system to maintain the forecast. Builds scopes and sessions that include all product to be forecasted for the upcoming season and the customers and territories to be forecasted.
• Provides detailed history to the field on prior season to be used as the base for the new season. Notes issues with the history such as stock outs, late deliveries or cancelations and make necessary adjustments.
• Collaborates with Sales Management and the TM's to collect forecasts at scheduled intervals during the season as well as in between as new information is available. Revises the demand signal based on this new information and informs the supply chain via detailed reporting.
• Analyzes data and interprets the direction of the forecast and makes modifications.
• Keeps inventory informed of all issues and sudden forecast changes in order to reduce overbuys or capitalize on opportunities within the buying windows.
• Represents sales at consensus meetings. Support the current forecast with backup analysis. Understand what the styles are and what is still to be booked.
• Troubleshoot issues during the season such as customers booking the wrong color, add/drops.
• Provides reporting and analysis on the forecast to include customer level this year vs. last year comparisons, weekly change analysis and customer penetration analysis.
• Monitoring bookings deadlines and communication with the Territory Managers if forecasts need to shift out.
• Maintaining safety stock.
Essential Skills and Experience:
• BS Degree in business or related field
• 2+ years in analytical role
• Experience in planning, buying or allocations is a plus
• Intermediate or better understanding of MS Excel
• Prior experience with data mining system
• Prior experience using demand manager
