Role Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to grow Russell’s DCIO business by developing relationships with financial advisors who specialize in servicing defined contribution plans. This position will work to build and maximize Russell's market share by providing Russell's industry insights, effective practice management, and intelligently designed retirement plan Company website successful candidate should possess an entrepreneurial and growth mindset to maximize the opportunity related to the innovative solutions Russell is bringing to market. The territory this role will cover includes; CO, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, NE, OH, UT and WI.
Location ideally would be at our Chicago office. Can be a home office in the Midwest.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
Proactive Territory Sales Management:
• Work to maximize DCIO sales in assigned geographic territory.
• Develop and sustain relationships with a targeted list of the industry’s leading DC advisors within the region.
• Develop and sustain relationships with COI’s with a focus on a targeted list of the most influential DC platform wholesalers.
• Efficiently manage and prioritize opportunities.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of investment strategies, specialized industry knowledge, investment process, and value added tools in this marketplace.
?Relationship Management:
• Develop deep relationships along with PCS Sales & Service teams with Russell's strategic distribution partner advisors to uncover opportunities for Russell.
• Work to retain and grow existing strategic relationships.
Effectively Contribute to Teamwork Environment:
• Actively share "best practices.
• Responsible for sharing insight from financial professionals and demands in the investment marketplace to help bring new products or concept to market as well as timely communication.
• Lead/mentor and develop less experienced staff and intermediary sales team and service.
The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
• Bachelor's degree required in Business, Finance or related field.
• FINRA Series 7, and 66 required.
• CIMA, CFA and CFP preferred.
• 5-7 years of financial services, sales operations or client serving role.
• Possess in-depth understanding and of the retirement plan industry, financial concepts, product knowledge, investment management and client-services strategies.
• Possess product knowledge in order to act as Russell's main point of contact in dealing with retirement plan professionals.
• Solid knowledge of financial concepts and the mathematics behind them.
• Be able to prioritize financial professional requests and effectively manage through completion.
• Highly developed level of discretion and judgment when dealing with financial professionals.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly build credibility and gain the confidence of clients and individuals at all levels.
• Problem solving skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, manage interruptions, and meet deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate market trends/changes into customized business solutions for clients.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment with rapidly changing priorities and demand. Flexible in methodology, is a self starter and results oriented.
• Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
