This DBA position is for a “lean in” and self-motivated individual looking to operate in an organization that believes in using information for a competitive advantage. Manage and secure enterprise data stored in SQL server as well as other contemporary data sources. Install, support, manage and troubleshoot the "data layer" services supporting ERP, Collaborative, Web and Business Intelligence Applications. Work collaboratively with Engineering as well as Applications development to deliver flexible, resilient and scalable solutions that fit within the budget and architecture. Install and configure new SQL Servers and SQL Server applications including layout of databases and disk requirements. As new systems are brought in-house, choose whether to use clustering, log shipping, mirroring, Windows Azure, or other technologies.
Responsibilities:
• Work in a leading edge environment; Virtualized SQL servers, SDN Based Datacenters, Master Data, Big Data, and Data Visualization
• Ensure backup and recovery strategies meet the business’ Recovery Requirements and Time Objectives
• Work with compliance group to ensure databases meet audit and security standards
• Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
• Monitor and Manage applications within the SQL environment
• Configure and maintain SQL Server monitoring utilities
• Deploy database change scripts provided by third party vendors
• When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
• Document the database environments
• Work with Technology Development group to implement new technologies and systems
• Automate processes with tools internal and external to SQL Server
• Familiarity with Visual studio and SSIS packages
• Familiarity with SSAS and SSRS
