You will build data driven solutions to bring music and digital media experiences to our 75 million active users, either by working directly on product features or by improving the quality of our data tools and large scale data infrastructure. Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.
What you'll do
Your role will include one or a few of the following areas:
• Work with one of Europe’s largest Hadoop clusters (1300+ nodes) containing over 50 petabytes of data, which constantly provide challenges of scale without clear solutions
• Continuously design, develop, and test data-driven solutions
• Help drive the optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality
• Develop measurement approaches to evaluate performance continuously
• Work with state-of-the-art data processing frameworks
• Work closely with software engineers, ML experts, and decision makers to build solutions and gain novel insights
• Work in cross functional agile teams to regularly experiment, iterate, and deliver on new product objectives
• Work from our office in Stockholm (Sweden)
Who you are
• You have a passion for working with big data systems (preferably distributed systems such as Hadoop) and transforming numbers into actionable insights
• You have 2-5 years of experience with full-time software development and are familiar with Python and Java
• You understand *nix fundamentals and you are comfortable working from the command line when needed
• You have experience with or interest in batch and real-time data processing frameworks like Crunch, Scalding, Storm, Kafka, or Spark
• You are knowledgeable about data modeling, data access, and data storage techniques
• You understand statistics and distributions and are eager to learn more
• You care about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation
• You preferably have experience working with data-related projects
