Job Description
The Data Center Coordinator will lead, represent and organize the team to deliver on technical IT infrastructure capabilities and be accountable for service delivery and design to achieve required service levels for all Company Datacenters. This includes but is not limited to, capacity management, health indicators, lifecycle policies and project documentation.
This job also includes the local manager role for the GNS Hosting team in Paris. This includes the overall development and staffing of the team in order to achieve the strategic direction and objectives set. The coordinator will create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities and routine tasks of the Data Center Coordinator are:
Team Management
• Create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
• Lead by setting a good example (role model) - behavior consistent with words
• Encourage creativity, risk-taking, and constant improvement
• Recognize and celebrate team and team member accomplishments and exceptional performance
• Provide technical and functional guidance to team members
• Manage possible conflicts within the team with discretion and following local and group HR policies, forward alerts to the global supervisor and local HR
Project Responsibilities
• Follow transition and operations day-to-day indicators with regional Supervisors and Technicians;
• Follow per project design activities with regional Supervisors and world IT Manager:
◦ Documentation portfolio;
◦ Sub task scheduling;
◦ Worldwide knowledge gathering and sharing;
◦ Conduct recurrent touch points.
• Own the Physical Server purchasing process:
◦ Follow standard definition and work closely with architects for definition updates;
• Collaborate with business leaders to design solutions that meet evolving company objectives.
• New technology evaluation and ongoing vendor management.
• Contribute significantly to capacity, scalability, and budget planning.
• Ensure activity reporting:
• Offer and analyze activity reporting (activity monitoring, quality indicators)
• Propose improvement actions after reporting analysis
• Work with partners (3rd party, internal non IT or business team) to help achieve project goals
• Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
Training
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP) certification is an asset
• ITIL v3 Foundation certification is an asset
Relevant experience
• Minimum of 4 years in coordinating or designing Infrastructure activities
Skills
• Organized and superior attention to detail
• Data Center design and installation.
• Always think and act with clients’ and end users’ satisfaction in mind
• Multi tasks
• Ability to interface with suppliers and external partners
• Have good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced changing environment
Knowledge
• Good written and oral communication skills in English
• Data center lexicon knowledge
• Knowledge of green IT initiatives
