This position will be assisting Vice Chairs and or Chairs certain Credit Policy working group and/or subcommittee or task forces composed of Line and Credit representatives from other departments as necessary to define issues and solutions including risk assessment. Sets agendas and provides for follow-up on actions. Serve as the Bank's primary subject expert for one or more specialty areas of credit policy management and governance. The position is typically responsible for serving on one or more policy making committees and or sub-committees, and tends to develop an expertise in one or more areas of credit policy such as commercial loans, real estate industry, derivatives, small business lending, residential mortgage, consumer lending and so on.
Responsibilities:
• Prioritize issues from initial identification to resolution, development, implementation and final communication.
• Manage and edit various credit related policies, procedures, standards and so on.
• Provide ongoing support to the peer credit policy team members as may be required and in the respective Secretary's' absence set agendas and produce minutes.
• Form and facilitate focus groups across organizational lines to resolve issues, assess risk and to ensure appropriate levels of governance over credit policy matters through-out the organization and in close coordination with Line, Credit and Global Liaison representatives.
• Prioritize issues for resolution, development, approval, implementation and communication.
• Assist proponents in developing and completing proposals including the assessment of risk for consideration by the Credit Policy Forum. This may also include researching and extracting financial statement ratio analysis in support of underwriting guideline metric changes.
• Provides periodic written reporting to governance committees on key credit policy activities from Credit Policy Forum to higher level risk committee, including Board committee.
• Make oral presentations to the Credit Policy Forum on actions subcommittees and or working groups.
Qualifications
• Requires working knowledge of banking regulations, policies, procedures and related processing and information systems.
• Experience forming and leading task forces / facilitate groups across organizational business lines in order to define issues, goals, solutions and bring recommendations forward to the appropriate forum/committee for approval implementation.
• Provides technical / professional guidance in assessing risk. Experience at writing and presenting information including data in various forms to educate and inform participants.
• Requires well above average written and oral communication skills and a considerable level of independence to accomplish multiple activities from inception to final execution and to develop projects to accomplish goals. Periodic updates are provided to senior management.
• Responsibilities directly affect several departments and groups. Work quality can have a major impact on attainment of department, division and group goals. Ability to rotate within the division among different department managers for specific projects.
• 5-10 years credit related / business experience and includes an advanced degree or certification in a related field such as a Masters Degree, MBA, CPA or CFA).
