Why Stitch:
We are a restless bunch at Stitch. We’re leaders in our industry, but our hunger to make an impact on the world is barely satisfied. Our grit, passion, and unyielding dedication to improve the lives our customers influences our culture in ways you won’t find at other companies. And while we continue to be the best, it doesn’t go without care, compassion and appreciation for the people around us. When you walk in our doors, you’ll find smart, courageous people who also consider one another family. And this is something we protect every day.
You’ll be encouraged to embrace curiosity and always ask “why”. Whatever you thought about working hard will be put to the challenge here. So if you are the kind of person who welcomes the challenge, an environment that will push you to grow and a company that moves quickly, well – you’ve found the right place.
The Role:
The Copywriter / Content Marketing Manager will report directly to the VP of Marketing to help create diverse content in supporting marketing efforts including everything from short, pithy ad copy to long-form guides. The successful candidate will be equal parts brand strategist and copywriter with a passion for developing strategic and consistent messaging across multiple channels for an evolving brand.
What you’ll do:
Every detail matters to you, from drafting persuasive CTAs and compelling headlines to developing big creative concepts. You polish every word until it shines.
• You create communications to inform and improve user experiences, but more importantly to elicit specific actions that achieve business objectives. You use analytics to guide each creative decision and know what success looks like.
• You respect deadlines and know how to move fast while still being meticulous and conscientious in your work. You work through multiple rounds efficiently and do whatever it takes to keep projects on track while keeping messaging on target.
• You devour research to become a subject matter expert, then you come up with a range of concepts for even a single banner ad (and everything else you work on). You think through all the strengths and weaknesses of a communication strategy, and have thoughtful answers to every question.
• You’re passionate about developing sound strategy, determining message hierarchies, and developing user experiences that communicate exactly the right message to the right person at the right time.
• You bridge the gap between what a brand wants to say and what the audience wants to hear. You’re skilled at translating features into benefits, crafting messages with emotional resonance, and figuring out how to make them stick.
• Great copy is a key ingredient of great design, and your work shows how you’ve tailored messages to fit certain spaces, styles, and systems. You know when breaking grammar and punctuation rules is the right thing to do for a design solution, and can back it up.
• When you write content, you think about how it will be consumed. You understand how desktop vs. mobile, print vs. digital, and push vs. pull affects the way people read and retain information. You’re skilled at telling the same story across multiple channels in a way that’s integrated yet optimized for every touchpoint.
Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of copywriting / content creation experience for a B2B company or agency serving B2B companies
• Excellent creative writing ability and high editorial standards
• Ability to create short, pithy content in addition to long-form content
• Ability to think conceptually, ensuring creative tone/voice support the brand voice and key business objectives—and are appropriate for all channels
• Strong ability to influence others to ensure copy and voice align with strategy
• Have a creative, assertive professional personality and be a competent researcher—comfortable asking questions and seeking answers
• Self-starter, ability to stay focused in an extremely fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Excellent organization and prioritization skills, ability to handle multiple projects across several channels.
• Experience working with all levels of business partners
• Teamwork, project management skills, and creativity a must. You will be collaborating with multiple team members from Product Managers to Engineers to Designers on a day-to-day basis.
