Purpose: To ensure on time in full (OTIF) availability of products at the European distribution centers. The Inbound Planning Specialist assumes the responsibility for implementing the right measures to guarantee a smooth inbound process with the order book in mind and against regionally set priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide inbound forecast to regional/local distribution centers to allow efficient staffing and an intake performance
• Participate in 100% meetings in order to identify critical supply chain constraints and determine actions to overcome supply problems of critical products (products with confirmed customer date, strategic products, products for marketing campaigns / launches)
• Ensure cost-efficient OTIF availability of products by optimal usage of container consolidation opportunities (in line with carrier allocation and targeted fill-rates) and container intake sequencing
◦ Monitor outstanding/incomplete supply and push suppliers via Purchasing to handover products to the carrier as well as monitoring forwarder cargo receipt status.
◦ Inform sales organizations on supply/transportation issues impacting availability
◦ Completing pre-advices in timely manner, ensuring containers are consolidated to maximize container fill (and potential direct containers are packed inline with specific customer requirements) and also meet prioritization needs
◦ Report on open POs in transit and support prioritization for intake according to market delivery date, IPI, customs availability status and distribution center capacity
◦ Monitor intake lead time & quality and cleanse purchase orders in SAP
• Ensuring the accuracy of SAP and tracking reports, providing the business with up to date information when requested
• Support distribution center in handling of transportation related claims, follow-up on compensation status and be the point of contact for markets
• Participate in regional projects with the goal to represent the inbound planning requirements of European Order Fulfillment

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• In depth knowledge of supply chain mechanics
• Process thinking
• Experience of working with SAP MM and SD
• Strong reporting & analytical skills
• Operations as wells as cost-focused mindset
• Basic understanding of external transportation systems
• Ability to accept and meet critical deadlines with good planning and organization skills
• Demonstrating initiative and acting result oriented
• Strong and clear communication skills
• Willingness to travel
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• A university degree with emphasis in the areas of business, information systems, logistics or operations
• Two to three years of work experience in supply chain management
• Good SAP skills and 3rd Party applications
• Competent user in Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in English (oral and in writing)
• Preferably another European Language
