Responsibilities
Role Summary:
Focus Features seeks a highly qualified candidate for the position of Distribution Coordinator, Focus Features. Focus seeking an exceptional candidate develop and execute theatrical film releases. Specific projects will include research, analysis, modeling, and recommendations related to film-specific distribution plans, competitive release dating analysis, and internal business performance improvement. The position offers unique exposure to a wide variety of businesses within the media and entertainment industry.
Essential Responsibilities:
Work closely with the President of Distribution and the SVP, Sales and Distribution to formulate vision and strategy for Focus Features and Focus World domestic theatrical releases
Formulate presentations for executive management on current Focus’ distribution initiatives
Help develop and execute limited, platform, and wide theatrical distribution rollouts
Trailers Placement Analysis for Focus and competitive films
Release Dating Analysis
Robust analysis of Life Gross Projections for Focus and competitive films
Competitive Gross Analysis
Film Rental Analysis
Ongoing competitive release Schedule Summary & Analysis including Weekly matinee analysis
Administrative support on all titles, including film festivals, and other film programs.
Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Focus Features is seeking exceptional candidates with 5+ years of experience in theatrical film distribution (preferably with specialty and arthouse film releases). The role requires superior strategic, financial sales, and interpersonal skills. The individual must possess the ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of both Focus and Company management as well as key external partners including filmmaking talent and exhibitors. The ideal candidate will also possess:
BS/BA degree
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver presentations
Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
A solid understanding of the film and/or media markets/ business models
Experience with in-theater marketing and exhibitor relations preferred
Film booking and rental term negotiation preferred
Extensive knowledge of Rentrak and Box Office Mojo required
