Company is looking to recruit Consultant or Senior Environmental Consultant to support our EIA work for our portfolio of high-profile offshore projects internationally. We operate a hybrid working arrangement and you can be based from our UK offices in Chepstow, Edinburgh, Woking, or London. We have flexible working opportunities, including part-time roles, to ensure a balance of personal and working life.
We are at the forefront in delivering projects in complex marine environments including offshore wind farm developments. Our experience includes 20 years at the forefront of the industry, working across the UK, wider Europe, America, Australia and Asia.
When you join Company, you’ll become a member of a deeply experienced marine consenting team who have been selected as the lead Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) consultant for some of the industry’s major “firsts”. These include the world’s largest offshore wind farms: Orsted’s Hornsea One, Two and Three, and Scotland’s largest offshore wind farm, SSE’s Berwick Bank.
Other “firsts” include Australia’s first offshore wind project, CIP’s Star of the South. We are also providing marine expertise to support Vineyard Wind, the United States’ first utility-scale offshore wind energy project and are the ESIA consultant for Firefly, Equinor’s first floating offshore wind project in South Korea. What you’ll be doing
Our Marine Consents and Environment team supports the delivery of large-scale marine and coastal infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on Offshore Wind, Renewables and Energy Transition.
This role will be involved in reviewing and assessments of ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) projects to national and/or international standards (such as Equator Principles, IFC Performance Standards, and standards of other development banks). Including but not limited to feasibility studies (FS), benchmarking, environmental and social (E&S) assessments and due diligence under the coordination and supervision of the Principal Consultant ESIA. You will contribute towards the structuring and coordination of ESIAs, baseline surveys and monitoring methods as well as the preparation of E&S management plans (ESMP) and action plans (ESAP).
This role would be suitable if you are at the early stages in your career, as you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills with a strong team around you.
Who we’re looking for
- You will have experience of EIA for major energy infrastructure projects. Ideally coupled with direct experience of the offshore renewables sector.
- Applicants with experience of working in other offshore industries (e.g., Oil & Gas) or onshore energy infrastructure projects would also be welcomed.
- You will have experience working with international projects outside of the UK & Ireland.
- You will ideally have a post-graduate qualification in a relevant environmental discipline.
- You will be interested in taking on a variety of tasks, as no two days are the same.
- You will ideally have some project management experience, such as resource planning, liaison with technical specialists, managing budgets, stakeholder engagement and contribution to work winning, and are able to manage your time alongside client expectations.
- You will have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken. Fluent written and oral command of English is essential. Professional command of other languages is positive, but not essential.
