This key role, based in our Singapore office, manages press and communication activities for CNBC across Asia Pacific, ensuring the brand is positively positioned in front of both audience and trade partners and its reputation as first in business and financial news is maintained. The Communications Manager handles media relations, delivers coverage of key news stories and business wins and also manages internal communications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages CNBC relationships with the media, both trade and financial/consumer.
• Manages junior communications staff/ freelance PR professionals/agencies as required along with a related communications budget.
• Works closely with the marketing team to ensure brand campaigns are fully supported.
• Ensures CNBC is represented in the trade press and works with marketing/sales/distribution on same.
• Ensures CNBC successes: key transcripts, interviews, appearances, events and business development deals receive optimum media coverage.
• Works with CNBC on-air talent and leadership team to identify opportunities for profile / visibility.
• Identifies and manages media partnerships that augment the CNBC APAC presence.
• Monitors CNBC presence in the media and reports on same to the wider business.
• Manages and delivers CNBC APAC specific internal communications initiatives, while contributing to global business communications.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Graduate calibre with solid experience in a communications/press environment. Media industry experience will be a distinct advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of Singapore media environment; good understanding of APAC media environment.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, as well as strong verbal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with senior management and external partners.
• Understanding of digital communications.
• Attention to detail and persistence.
REQUIREMENTS
• Computer literate (MS Office, and beyond).
• Eligible to work in Singapore.
• Willingness to travel.
