At Company Animation, Character Technical Directors, also known as “riggers,” are an integral part of the animation pipeline. They create the structure, shapes, and controls that allow animators to breathe life into our characters.
Our Character TDs have a broad range of knowledge including: anatomy, principles of character motion, and how to interpret and incorporate character designs into the rigging process. In addition, they are great at innovating and solving both design and technical problems.
The Character TD Trainee Program is designed to give individuals a challenging introduction into the art and science of building feature film quality character rigs. This is accomplished through learning about our animation pipeline and proprietary software as well as working one-on-one with mentors that provide guidance along the way.
Interested in joining our team? We’re looking for recent graduates who have an eye for form and motion, and strong problem solving skills. We need individuals who are eager to learn and collaborate with other artists to build amazing characters.
