JOB SUMMARY
As a Company Health Northern VA & Culpeper team member, you will have a voice in patient care decisions, support the most advanced medical technologies and feel a strong sense of satisfaction from making a difference in people’s lives every day.
To coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population.
Patient Care: Provides assessment, evaluation, and management of patients.
- Participates in the collection of patient data as needed.
- Determines nursing care needs through recognition of relationships between data gathered and a patient's health status and treatment regimen.
- Identifies relevant resources based on necessity and availability.
Communication:Communicates information to others responsible for or involved in the care of the patient.
- Participates in dialogue with the patient/chosen support system to identify the individualized care plan.
- Consistently utilizes appropriate communication tools such as Situation, Background, Assessment, Recommendation, and Question (SBARQ) when communicating within the interdisciplinary team and when handing off patient care.
- Documents appropriate information in a timely manner.
Teamwork:Participates as part of the interdisciplinary care team in planning individualized care.
- Collaborates with the registered nurse to consider ongoing modification of care plan based on patient’s needs, capabilities, and condition.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED Required.
Experience: Previous work in a medical office preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.
Licensure: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) credentials or must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire through a recognized national professional association such as:
- AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants)
- AMT (American Medical Technologists)
- ARMA (American Registry of Medical Assistants)
- NAHP (The National Association of Healthcare Professions)
- NHA (National Healthcare Association)
Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.

The job requires constant sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally. For any weight over 35 lbs. use Safe Handling Equipment.
