An intern in the CAD department will collaborate with the design team to create original prints, use purchased artwork to inspire creativity and design as well as use programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Kaledo to create prints, wovens, embroideries, and graphics. An intern in this department will be expected to produce multiple variations of CAD artwork in order to meet the designer’s intent or ideas they have for a product. Should understand what colors, patterns, prints, and fabrics complement one another as to help these ideas move on to the next step in the creative process.
Responsibilities Include:
• Use CAD programs and creativity to design patterns and prints that the design team could use to create the perfect product. Must be able to adapt over a fast changing environment while still meeting deadlines, and remain flexible enough to allow change to influence the creative process
• Attention to detail required as well as thriving from constructive criticism
• Must have a knack for seeing what patterns, prints, and colors will work well together in unison with trend forecasts to create prints the design team will focus their designs around
Requirements
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week June-August 2017
• Pursuant of a Bachelor’s Degree in textile design or related major
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• CAD experience in Adobe, Photoshop, and Illustrator required (Kaledo experience a plus)
• Must use attention to detail and creativity to ensure designs are completed well, as well as keeping deadlines
• Experience in retail a plus
