Buyer/Planner (Adaptive)
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, execute, and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans that support the division’s financial, product, and marketing objectives.
• At a category level, develop sales, gross margin, and inventory plans that support the division’s objectives. Ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities.
• Create a balanced assortment in terms of: brand appropriateness, fashion vision, quality, fit, value, price point, style/SKU count and key item depth.
• Build framework to support strategies - Identify opportunities for grow/maintain/decline in programs/skus and product/classification opportunities.
• Edit and balance the line in partnership with Design and Production.
• Ensure assortment supports department strategies and falls within brand aesthetic while driving sales to achieve financial goals.
• Proactively manage cross- functional alignment and communication flows, including product launches and content specifics with the digital ecommerce team.
• Work closely with production teams to develop and enhance workflow processes for the adaptive clothing line.
• Take lead role in senior management meetings (business review meetings, assortment reviews, and financial reviews), presenting in-depth analysis of respective departments and classifications; must be able to sell and validate point of view with facts and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-7 years of merchandise planning, retail buying, and\or project management experience.
• BA Degree
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presenting complex material in an organized and compelling manner.
• Highly motivated, well organized self-starter
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Strategic thinker with ability to manage from high level to low level detail.
• Balanced analytical mind with innovative, creative thought – from business operation and product standpoints
• Must be highly organized; ability to work in dynamic, changing, fast paced environment
• Analytical/Retail Math Skills
• Project Management
• Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and JDA systems
• Understanding of retail eCommerce landscape
