Buyer- Vendor Goods
Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Develop buying and merchandising strategies for the Licensed Merchandise business that tie back to financial goals for the division and company.
• Build and maintain strategic business relationships with Licensee Partners and Global Merchandising Teams and communicate needs of the Canadian business to management on regular basis in order to impact growth.
• Execute buy process from concept to completion, product assortment customized to the Canadian market
• Responsible for allocation to stores
• Aggressively drive the business by identifying opportunities and developing action plans to maximize best results through reorders, challenging business partners and status quo.
• Generate analysis and prepare selling hindsight’s on weekly, monthly, quarterly, seasonal basis in order to help identify opportunities in the assortment to drive sales and minimize liabilities.
• Implement markdowns/promotions on goods in accordance with global MD strategy and place timely reorders on best sellers.
• Work closely with planning to manage the open to buy and key item plans and visual team to execute merchandising strategy on by-door basis. Collaborate with CSP’s and store management to ensure assortments by door are maximized.
• Responds to store-specific needs, optimizes allocation-replenishment effectiveness and partners with visual and planning to optimize in-season actions to drive sales and profit
• Analyzes assortment and store performance and plans the distribution, replenishment and merchandise movement (transfers-consolidations) by monitoring and addressing inventory imbalances at a store level
• Quarterly store cluster validation – special assortment strategies
• Replenishment inventory managed based on, best sellers, promotions, aging good repeats etc.
• Responsible for maintaining assortment sheets, pricing/conversion files, markdown boards, assortment boards and for the execution and maintenance of merchandising guidelines and product knowledge information to the stores.
Requirements:
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
• Proficient knowledge of computer applications: Strong Excel Skills
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
• Fashion sense and know-how
• Allocation experience and knowledge of Retail systems and databases an asset
