Bank Resource Management Overview
Bank Resource Management (BRM) handles the centralized liability management and governance of Company’s global securities financing and OTC derivatives activities, in partnership with Corporate Treasury. BRM is positioned at the core of transaction flows to ensure proper and consistent allocation and pricing of resources across market facing businesses globally. BRM helps position Company as a leader in establishing funding and collateral management practices.
BRM principal responsibilities include:

• Equity Securities Lending Trading
• Client Financing Repo Trading
• Secured Funding
• Counterparty Portfolio Management
Description of Role
Business Unit Risk Management (BURM) is responsible for structuring and implementing the risk management framework for the BRM division as part of their first line of defense responsibilities.
BURM is currently seeking a Vice President to be based in the Firm’s regional headquarters here in Hong Kong.
Reporting to the Asia Head of Non-Market Risk and Electronic Trading Risk Management for Sales and Trading, this Vice President will be covering Asia Pacific, excluding Japan; and be responsible for these key Non-Market Risk responsibilities:
• Ensure standardization and consistency in risk management policies and procedures applicable to BRM.
• Partner with functional groups, including Legal, Compliance, Operations, Credit, Tax, FCG and IT to identify, assess and mitigate business related risks.
• Govern all New Business initiatives and work with desk and functional support areas on these initiatives.
• Support regulatory inquiries, internal audits and compliance testing across the BRM Asia region.
• Serve as BRM Asia contact for Information Security, Conflicts and wall crossing purposes.
• Track and manage all operational risk incidents and run with the periodic Risk and Control Self-Assessment program.
• Manage the supervisory control framework for the division.
• Work with the BRM and associated divisions, the Institutional Equity Division (IED) and Fixed Income Division (FID) on day-to-day queries and issues.*LI-JG1
Qualifications and Skill-sets:
• A university degree, with 5-8 years of professional experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Technology or Operations.
• Solid working knowledge of securities lending necessary, secured funding and repo markets advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of Asian markets including the associated regulations that govern the Asian region.
• Ability to work effectively across business and functional groups to build working relationships.
• An analytical mindset.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
