The Business Development Associate will support the sales efforts for Fiduciary Trust Company International by providing daily support to the Business Development Officers.
Responsibilities include:
• Support the Fiduciary Trust sales process by coordinating various communications to prospects and referral sources.
◦ Draft, review, print, and bind sales presentation materials.
◦ Work with Marketing to ensure presentation materials match our Global Graphics Standards.
◦ Respond to prospects and web inquiries about Fiduciary Trust services.
◦ Cultivate business development relationships with junior referral sources.
◦ Conduct ad-hoc research assignments on prospects, referral sources, or competitors.
◦ Prepare spreadsheet analyses on prospect or client portfolios, as necessary.
◦ Attend internal and external sales and marketing meetings, as needed.
◦ Coordinate sales results with financial reporting groups.
• Work with assigned BDO to coordinate the RFP/RFI or Due Diligence Questionnaires process from start to finish.
◦ Collaborate with BDOs, Marketing group, and the BDA/RFP Team to understand client needs and to create customized RFP responses that highlight the firm’s strategic and competitive advantage.
◦ Ensure consistency of look and feel of responses relative to our branded style template.
◦ Develop strong relationships with internal subject matter experts with particular attention to developing strong investment/product knowledge.
◦ Work with BDA/RFP team to maintain and update RFP responses and relevant data in internal database.
• Coordinate Client Onboarding Process for New Clients
◦ Prepare and package Account Opening checklists, contracts, and forms to send to new clients.
◦ Perform basic and enhanced due diligence screening on new and existing clients.
◦ Collecting/gathering necessary documents and information from clients.
◦ Draft and submit Know Your Client form and documentation.
◦ Coordinate and follow up on completion of account opening with investment or trust administrators.
• Marketing and Events Functions
◦ Manage the client, prospect, and referral source CRM database (Siebel/ACT/Outlook, Excel/etc.).
◦ Assist in the planning, coordination and implementation of company and special events for clients, prospects, and referral sources.
◦ Manage invitation lists, holiday card mailings, and RSVPs for events.
◦ Support Business Development Officer at conferences with marketing efforts for sales booths.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in the finance industry, preferably in a support capacity.
• Prior client service experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with emphasis on experience in writing and responding to RFPs/RFIs.
• Experienced in maintaining a data repository a plus.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects consistently with prompt follow through in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Team player mentality / collaborative attitude.
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism required.
• Excellent telephone etiquette with the ability to communicate directly with clients and senior managers.
• Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
