Company Sports (FS) San Diego is seeking a Broadcast Engineer to be responsible for the engineering functions supporting Studio production, post-production, Editing systems and transmission of Live events. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
Responsibilities
• Manage all engineering aspects of the technical facility including Studio, Editing systems and transmission of live/taped programs and events.
• Troubleshoots equipment where problems occur and performs regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment replacement, supplies, etc. documents and executes necessary corrective actions.
• Interacts daily and communicates effectively with Production Dept. and provides technical leadership and support.
• Ensures all PLN transmission equipment is operating correctly before and during live event telecasts. Corrects and documents technical problems and reports them to the manager.
• Consults Company NE&O Regional Engineering staff regarding corrective actions unable to resolve alone.
• Follows all Company and FCC standards and guidelines.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years experience working in broadcast engineering and in a studio operations environment.
• Must be knowledgeable in all areas of television production and familiar with all studio production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of technical setup in file base editing systems including networking and storage solutions.
• Knowledgeable maintaining Avid ISIS/ Interplay and Apple Final Cut systems with archiving LTO systems.
• Computer operating systems knowledge is a must, networking skills a plus.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills are essential as well as technical troubleshooting skills.
• Reasonable mathematical skills required.
• Must have strong communication skills, team player and has a “can do” attitude.
• Occasionally required to bend and lift up to 50 pounds and climb ladders.
• Flexible hours/schedule and weekend and holiday shifts will be required.
