As a Brand Marketing Manager for Global Partner Markets, you will be supporting the Brand Design strategic vision, aesthetic direction and execution for the Converse brand in Partner Markets across the globe from Southeast Asia to Eastern Europe to Latin America. You’ll be responsible for bringing Converse to life in retail stores, online, events and tradeshows. You will take Global seasonal assets and directives and implement in region, adapt or localize where needed and ensure that the Converse Brand is always represented in a consistent manner, while being hyper relevant to the region in its broadest cultural and consumer diversity. You will also help design regional stories that will come to life in the marketplace (mostly retail oriented).
Job responsibilities:
You will work with the Global Partner Marketing team, have contact with the Global Brand Design team, the Direct to Consumer (DTC) team and external creative agencies to create and maintain global Brand design standards across the following channels:
Marketing: Seasonal campaign activation strategy and execution.
Retail: Retail and wholesale design strategy and seasonal marketing initiative execution across all distribution channels.
Events: Energy events, tradeshow presence and related events, press previews and other local PR initiatives.
Brand: You will help execute and maintain the Converse graphic standards and overall visual Identity, both internally and consumer facing.
Other:
• Translate Converse’s global seasonal creative direction across the global partner regions.
• Partner with the Global Partner Marketing team, the Global Brand Design team and external agencies to develop the creative point of view for Global Partners seasonal marketing materials, from internal sell-in tools to consumer-facing assets and guidelines.
• Develop and drive innovative brand positioning and product storytelling solutions for Global Partner market-specific product at retail.
• Concept and create innovative solutions for 2D and 3D design including photography, graphics, environments, and consumer activations and events.
• Concept, design and direct photo and video shoots for regionally needed product stories including small in-house product-only shoots and bigger on-location shoots with models.
• Develop tools that support the region’s seasonal product initiatives, from internal milestone meetings to launch toolkits, tradeshow guidelines, media and energy events, and execution at retail.
• Utilize exceptional design skills and demonstrate innovation in creating original concepts and designs.
• Communicate and present design concepts and create presentation materials (decks) that effectively communicate your concepts to internal stakeholders or external production companies.
• Stay connected to other Brand Design, Communications, and Marketing counterparts to maintain a working knowledge of the Brand, regional priorities and market presence.
• Be engaged and receptive to a challenging learning environment.
Consumer understanding and cultural expertise:
Understanding of the licensee and distributor business model and consumer space is highly beneficial. Love for Music and Art is important as well as having an international perspective. A passion for the space of youth culture and its history is central to further defining the Brand’s space in the market. Demonstrates expert level of current trends, color, media, technology and other design influencers.
Communication and teamwork:
Must be comfortable working in a matrixed organization. Partnership with cross-functional teams is the only path to success. The ability of inviting perspective and diverse points of view into the work flow is key to achieving results.
Shares knowledge, experience and skill with other design staff. Works with (Brand) design counterparts to ensure continuity across segment lines/areas of focus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and 5 plus years of design experience. Proven ability to apply and perform design skills, including drawing/sketching, photography, typography, ideation, spacing, and scale, visual presentation development and layout that is supported by a portfolio of non-computer-based creative art and design. Knowledge of and sensitivity to trends influencing design in general. Demonstrated high level of expertise using design software. Strong oral and written communications skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations. Ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives. Ability to work cooperatively with staff, share ideas and develop effective responses. Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment. Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes. Ability to develop strong, collaborative working relationships with cross functional teams and external resources. Ability to motivate others, deal with ambiguity, and effectively collaborate in decision-making.
