Almay is looking for a Global Brand Manager who is passionate about beauty with a strategic vision to help move the brand forward. The ideal candidate will drive thought leadership and identify gaps in both our current offering as well as identify new growth opportunities.
General requirements include:
• Deep dives and thorough analysis of category through quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Conceptual development of new products from ideation through commercialization, marketing support programs and corresponding program briefs
• Program ownership and management –monitors project timetables and ensures the team is delivering products and programs on time
• Collaborates and works closely with all necessary cross-functional teams and support groups
• Responsible for providing regional affiliates with timely information on calendarized programs and works closely with teams on supporting creative needs.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute marketing plans- analyze the potential of new product recommendations based on sales and profit analysis. Drive and manage all aspects of innovation from ideation to launch and is responsible for creating proper documentation at all product stage gates.
• Identify key insights in an effort to develop, test and propose the optimum business mix. Provides strategic recommendations for expansion and sku rationalization.
• Responsible for being category lead. Stay abreast of global and domestic makeup trends, understand the consumer and translate this knowledge to create insightful strategy, communication and innovation.
• Create agency briefs and manage agency partners and deliverables. Develop communication & POS assets. Develop social media content strategy and calendar in conjunction with creative agency, Global PR and local markets to drive brand awareness and new innovation throughout the year
• Lead regional and cross-functional teams to overcome executional and logistical hurdles to meet aggressive in-market timing
• Develop product guides and launch toolkits to support commercial teams w/ new product sell-in and in market execution.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
• Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred.
• 5-7 years experience
• Innovation leadership experience - ability to execute and deliver on successful innovation ideas. Strong project management skills and understanding of New Product Development (NPD) process from ideation to execution.
• Self-starter who thinks and acts like an owner, demonstrating bias for action with high energy and commitment level
• Experience in understanding, assessing, creating and executing a campaign within the digital ecosystem (especially social media) that leads to great work and results.
• Problem solver that is not afraid to approach challenges creatively
• Analytical / quantitative acumen with strong knowledge of key syndicated data (Nielsen/IRI) as well as practical application with trend forecasting tools (Mintel, Euromonitor, WGSN)
• Clear demonstration of high emotional intelligence and external orientation in leading teams and inspiring / influencing others. Intense passion for consumers, brand building, and color cosmetics.
• 5 years relevant Global Marketing Color Cosmetics work experience. Skincare marketing a plus.
• Hands-on experience with influencer marketing a plus
• Positive attitude and sense of humor always a plus
