The Branch Sales Manager develops new deposit relationships; provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture of Building Excellence through coaching, guidance, and staff motivation; works towards achieving branch sales goals through developing new business and retention of existing account relationships. Provides leadership, training and supervision; may perform duties in the absence of the Branch Manager or Operations Officer.
Essential Functions
• Supports the Company’s philosophy of Building Excellence; promotes the corporate culture through coaching, guidance, and staff motivation.
• Works towards achieving branch sales goals through developing new business and retention of existing account relationships. Works with staff to ensure excellent customer service and sales. Leads staff to accomplish company goals.
• Identifies and implements marketing strategies and plans events to support sales.
• Meets with potential, new, and existing customers outside the office for lunches, sales calls, and on-site visits in order to foster relationships.
• Assumes responsibility and is accountable for the operational compliance within the branch including, but not limited to, teller cash counts, certifications, new and closed account reports, CTR filing, suspicious activity reporting, elder abuse reporting, and staff adherence to Company policies and procedures.
• Handles customer service issues and assists customers with special issues, questions, new accounts, and IRAs.
Performs and reviews, as needed, all the duties of the branch operations staff to ensure audit compliance.
• May assist the Branch Manager in monitoring and working reports.
• Approves wire transfers up to designated limit and approves exceptions to new accounts and check holds.
• May assist in researching and resolving cash differences.
• May back up teller line as needed.
• Second signatory on Company Official Checks.
• Provides leadership, training and supervision.
• May perform supervisory duties of staff and coordinate staff coverage.
• Participates in community affairs to increase the Company's visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities.
• Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries.
• Reviews account opening reports for sales tracking.
• May provide supervision and support to all areas of the branch where service or assistance is needed; oversees activities of assigned personnel.
• Consistently applies decision making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
• Plays a positive role in the development and growth of assigned department staff through excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong delegation skills assuring a highly cross-trained staff.
• Operates computer terminal to open new accounts, process account activity, determine balances and resolve problems within given authority.
• RegIstered with NMLS.
• May perform Notary duties.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or at least 2 to 4 years of related experience. Work related experience must consist of an in-depth background in Bank Secrecy Act compliance and supervisory skills. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
• Advanced experience, knowledge and training in progressively responsible Company administration, management and supervisory activities.
• Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in all operational and lending activities and terminology.
• Advanced knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Company operational policies and procedures, and the Company’s products and services.
• Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation, mainframe computer system, word processing, typing and spreadsheet software programs to meet the needs of the position.
• Intermediate math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.
• Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
• Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Company activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Company activities; effectively staff (selecting, training and developing employees); directing employees towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate).
• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
• Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
• Current California driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
