UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for multiple BIOMEDICAL ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN 2. The Biomedical Electronics Technician 2 performs complex biomedical electronics work designing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, installing, constructing and testing analog and/or digital electronic equipment or apparatus used in the patient care, life support, and clinical laboratory areas of a health care facility.
DUTIES:
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect medical equipment and instrumentation, including life-support equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.
Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
Assist with and evaluate third-party repairs.
Provide technical assistance and instruction to personnel regarding equipment operation and maintenance.
Review outcome of preventive maintenance actions and make recommendations to department staff concerning improvements.
Provide mentoring to other biomedical electronics technicians.
May assist senior biomedical electronics technicians or supervisor with in-service educational programs on use of equipment.
REQUIRED:
Two years of experience as a Biomedical Electronics Technician 1
OR
Four years of experience as a biomedical electronics technician
OR
Equivalent education/experience
OR
Certification by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician.
