Associate Producer, The Michelangelo Signorile Show
Position Summary:
Associate Producer/Board Operator for the Michelangelo Signorile Show, a daily political talk program focused on progressive politics as well as cultural and LGBT issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Pitch evocative guest and show topics to Producer and Host.
• Book guests, perform background research and prepare interview.
• Run audio board and studio equipment on daily talk program.
• Assist with production duties as assigned by host and producers, including audio editing, production of promos, special audio features, and best-of programming - Screening and preparation of listener calls for air.
• Perform additional duties as directed by program producers and the Program Director, including planning and execution of remote broadcasts and specials.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
• None.
Minimum Qualifications:
• College degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years radio or relevant media experience.
Requirements and General Skills:
• Strong interest and knowledge of current events, politics, news, pop culture.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
• Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person.
• Commitment to internal client and customer service principles.
• Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects.
• Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals.
• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude, ability to work on a team, and flexibility to evolve with position.
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
• Proficient operating a live radio sound board.
• Thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Familiarity with Prophet and/or Dalet is a plus.
