JOB TITLE: Associate Media Director
REPORTS TO: Communications Director or appropriate leadership
FLSA: Exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION SUMMARY:
The Associate Communications Director oversees all aspects of media for regional advertising clients across the country and assist in managing a team of media professionals.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Presents media plans to clients at the regional level.
• Works with a team of cross-functional managers to strategize and discuss total communications approach.
• Oversees and directs the work of subordinates within the communications planning team.
• Oversees the process of gathering consumer and competitive research.
• Develops strategic integrated marketing plans.
• Ensures the communications team analyzes all buys to original audience estimates and oversees any negotiations or additional bonus spots needed to achieve goals.
• Ensures all pertinent media information is being communicated to the appropriate client teams.
• Works closely with media buying teams to ensure media plans are implemented according to plan details.
• Maintain and support all company standards as specified within the Quality Management System.
• Supports/facilitates the mandatory adherence to ISO9001 requirements, processes and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Analytical ability to identify discrepancies, problems or issues and to determine methods for ensuring compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead others, share experiences, and grow a team of media professionals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for frequent contacts with internal client teams and external stakeholders.
• Strong presentation skills to garner support from the client and persuade them on media recommendations.
• Analytical ability to develop comprehensive media strategies, evaluate alternative approaches, and determine the most lucrative approach for the client while staying within budgetary guidelines.
• Significant organizational skills to work effectively in an advanced paced environment demanding quick responses.
• Strong understanding of shopper and/or competitive digital strategies as it pertains to media planning in addition to traditional media knowledge
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Seven to ten years media planning/buying experience.
• Minimum of two years prior supervisory experience.
• Have physical and mental requirements to meet the above listed job responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Prisma/DDS/Media Tools systems ideal
• Tier 2 automotive experience desired
