Associate Content Producer - Arts & Business
Team
Production and Digital Studio, Arts and Business. This team comprises Business Publishing, Humanities, Social Sciences, World Languages, English, CourseConnect, all UK disciplines, and Global Editions, spanning three continents and all product models.
The Production and Digital Studio team provides end to end content creation and production planning and execution. It does this by:
• Collaborating with Portfolio Management, Product Model, Design, Marketing and other internal teams; we work in a matrix organization
• Recommending resources around content development, creation and production
• Overseeing key production activities and providing recommendations for simplification and consistency; ultimately accountable for all product deliverables to market
• Bridging traditional publishing roles and product models to new ways of working across all product models; Identifying what needs to be done and bringing the right people to the table to ensure the best outcomes
Role Description
The Associate Content Producer is responsible for managing projects and tasks related to Production and Digital Studio within their Business Unit, including taking a lead on accessibility reporting and remediation. Reporting to the Vice President of Production and Digital Studio, Arts and Business, the Associate Content Producer is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating projects and performing tasks in support of business unit and Company-wide goals.
S/He creates, manages, maintains process and workflow documentation/websites for the department, and recommends regular improvements to content, format, delivery , working with the Vice President to identify and implement strategic/programmatic opportunities to drive efficiencies. S/he reports and analyzes fiscal plant spending; identifies opportunities for cost savings and/or efficiencies based on analysis of spending patterns and practices; maintains/updates financial documents, information and tools.
The Associate Content Producer oversees unit wide communication, managing and maintaining the department Neo site; solicits feedback on content and improvements; creates and evaluates surveys and questionnaires, and researches and recommends social media and other tools for communicating, sharing, and building community. S/he manages the maintenance and distribution of the organizational structure. The Associate producer will play a lead in defining and creating plans around the larger teams Learning and Development goals. There will be some early morning calls to span a team across multiple time zones.
The Associate Content Producer will manage several clerical tasks such as scheduling department or other meetings for and with the Vice President/Director/Team Leads, run status and other department reports, analyzes and summarizes as needed, orders supplies, light filing, maintains equipment, maintains department records, and occasionally managing travel logistics and related expenses for Vice President.
Accessibility is one of Company’s key initiatives and is essential to the learning experience for those with disabilities. The Arts and Business team is identifying areas where content needs to be remediated in order to meet our accessibility standards. The Associate Content Producer will assist the Vice President, Directors, Managing Producers and individual Producers in identifying areas where content needs remediation and associated costs, assisting with plans to remediate, and tracking spend and completion of remediation.
Qualifications
Essential Skills include:
• Exceptional written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate professionally to high-level executives, Presidents, and other internal staff and critical stakeholders.
• High level of critical thinking and analysis
• Project Management experience in an educational or professional setting preferred
• Ability to analyze and synthesize new information
• Must be self-motivated
• Has an interest in accessibility as a way to improve the learning experience
Critical Competencies:
• Has an understanding of how Production supports Company's larger goals. Able to deliver plans, with limited supervision, according to budget and looks for areas of financial optimization
• Works with other parts of the organization, with limited supervision (e.g. portfolio management and product management teams) as necessary to ensure support in attaining output, quality and productivity
• Helps resolve bottlenecks, with limited supervision, and stability issues by communicating a big picture understanding of interconnecting components for a particular courseware product or project
• Assists, with limited supervision, in flagging areas of improvement in terms of production flow or relationships with vendors in order to increase efficiency or reduce costs
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Prefer 2+ years of experience or equivalent education (M.S/M.A)
• Strong PC & Mac Skills with proficiency in:
• Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, SmartSheet, Planview, Microsoft Project or other project management software, Business Objects, Adobe Acrobat
