Purpose
The Assistant Site Merchandiser is responsible for assisting the visual merchandising team execute a superior customer shopping experience on Company website. The Assistant Site Merchandiser will support the execution of on-line merchandising and product information strategy for specific categories. The objectives will be met by supporting the site merchandiser in the creation of compelling customer driven merchandise assortments and product management within the visual merchandising team.
Key Accountabilities
• Collaborates with Site Merchandisers to position key stories and products
• Validate key web merchandise metadata prior to publication on live site
• Monitor editorial and catalog assortments including special collections and gift guides and identify opportunities
• Participates in Go To Market meetings to understand seasonal business plans, product features/technologies, and key initiatives
• Input into seasonal planning with Marketing to identify merchandising opportunities to increase sell through
• Partners with Newsroom to execute social activations relevant to eCommerce
• Collaborate with eCom Analytics team to evaluate how collections and products are performing online
• Support ad hoc product imagery file editing and uploading
• Supports other site merchandising tasks as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills
• A strong understanding of merchandise hierarchy and digital presentation
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft office applications, including intermediate capabilities with Excel and Word
• High degree of internet savvy, with a curiosity and enthusiasm for digital and media trends
• Excellent problem solving skills – able to identify, analyze and propose solutions to various technical and business issues
• Good design aesthetic and a strong ability to judge visual appearance, ensuring alignment with brand and global standards
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, “self-starter” environment serving as a catalyst for change and managing multiple work streams simultaneously
• Exhibit professional initiative and entrepreneurial drive
• Ability to work independently and be a solution-based thinker
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
2. Previous experience with eCommerce business in merchandising preferred
3. Proficiency with MS Office Suite including MS Access and working with systems/application, Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems preferred
