Northern Illinois University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Huskie Athletic Fund (Publicity Promotion Specialist). This is a full-time, 12-month position with full benefits. Duties will include the following: • Generate revenue and achieve season goals set by supervisor. Develop a comprehensive marketing and sales plan to maximize ticket revenue and premium sales for assigned sports, based on performance measures established by the Assistant Athletics Director for Development. • Manage a portfolio of premium season ticket holders. Make independent decisions regarding ticket packaging and premium sales initiatives. Move premium season ticket holders through the moves management cycle. • Establish and execute an effective gift-in-kind program for restaurants, car dealers, and housing including solicitation process and program. • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and sales plan to maximize Huskie Athletic Fund and Department of Intercollegiate Athletics special events. Develop revenue generating program marketing materials. • Active involvement in the sales and external efforts of the program and independent off-campus solicitations. • Coordinates the athletic scholarship endowment program in conjunction with the Sr. Associate Athletic Director and coaches including award process and donor stewardship event planning. • Develop and execute Varsity Club programs, including volunteers, All Sport Reunion, alumni weekends, and Hall of Fame weekend. Salary: $16.71/hour (Click here for employment benefit information). Work schedule: M-F 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with nights and weekend work required REQUIRED SKILLS 1. High school graduation or equivalent. 2. Any one or any combination of the following, totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories: (A) Bachelor’s degree in public relations, advertising, marketing, communications, organizational leadership, graphic design or other closely related field. • 60 semester hours or an Associate’s degree equals one (1) year (12 months • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months) • 120 semester hours or a Bachelor’s degree equals three (3) years (36 months) (B) Progressively more responsible professional experience in areas such as, communications, promotions, public relations, marketing, journalism, sales and/or the preparation of advertising materials for mass media or other closely related field. 3. Demonstrated experience in sales at the Division 1 level. 4. Demonstrated experience in marketing various sports programs and coordinating donor events. 5. Demonstrated experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design programs. NOTE: Part-time employment is calculated to a full-time equivalent. This is a security-sensitive position.
