We are looking for an Assistant Designerwho will bring innovation, creativity and spunk to our team. Responsibilities:
• Sustain the development, evolution and communication of a brand look that supports and deepens the brand value and identity
• Assist one or more designers to execute the design process components to achieve or exceed targets for the seasonal calendar, assortment plan and source location requirements
• Support fit, fabric, finish, sundries and trim developments
• Contribute to the development of seasonal design platforms and concepts by identifying consumer relevant opportunities through market research
• Sustain effective partnerships with Merchandising, Product Development and Sourcing to ensure products are engineered to profit and quality/aesthetic goals
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Design in a HUGE plus, however a combination of college education and related work experience may be used as a substitute
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a design environment
• Ability to create detailed technical garment sketches
• Excellent working knowledge of garment construction and patternmaking
• Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
• Expert knowledge and proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Extremely strong customer service orientation and the ability to multi-task; with the desire to work in a very fast paced environment and an ability to not become frustrated with last minute changes
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills; especially when it comes to working directly with senior level directors
• Impeccable communication skills across all channels with an ability to get the message across over IM, email, phone, text
• Excellent discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy
• Demonstrated ability to learn new computer programs quickly
• Must demonstrate an energetic, positive, helpful demeanor and a passion and interest in LS&Co.
