The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services is responsible for the overall quality and comprehensive nature of the Compliance Program for the UCR Department of Athletics.
It is the responsibility of the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services to coordinate, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of the Athletic Compliance Program.
This includes the development, implementation, and monitoring of all applicable policies and procedures; interpreting and implementing NCAA and conference rules and regulations; managing all educational, monitoring, and investigatory components; and effectively coordinating all other areas within the program that strengthen and enhance the athletic compliance effort as a whole.
The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services is also responsible for supervising, developing, and evaluating the Compliance Director with a focus on establishing an organized, communicative, and collaborative team within the Compliance Office. This position reports to and works closely with the Executive Associate Director of Athletics. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, organizing, and implementing all phases of the athletics department's compliance program in coordination with the supervisor and Faculty Athletics Representative.
Responsibilities include daily operations, rules education, initial and continuing eligibility, financial aid, personnel, recruiting, practice and playing seasons, coordinating audits and periodic reviews, and facilitating the self-reporting process. This inherently involves reviewing existing procedures and developing or revising systems as necessary. The Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance Services will keep the supervisor aware of progress, violations, and issues related to maintaining institutional compliance with NCAA, BWC, and athletically related University rules.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Skills in project management, social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
Interpersonal skills.
Skills in monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
Ability in problem identification and reasoning; ability to develop original ideas to solve problems, persuasion, leadership.
In-depth knowledge of the field's post-degree employment opportunities and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance operational issues and activities, specifically at the Division I level. Proficiency in understanding and interpreting NCAA rules and regulations.
A person of integrity who possesses a solid commitment to academic integrity, the welfare of student-athletes, and full compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
Experienced self-start with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively educate and interact with multiple constituencies including coaches, student-athletes, administrators, boosters, and other members of the University community as required.
Advanced computer skills including demonstrated proficiency using the NCAA Compliance Assistance Software (CA), NCAA Eligibility Center, RSRO, and LSDBi
Bachelor's degree in related area, plus eight (8) years of related experience, and/or equivalent experience/training.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in athletics compliance operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree
Multicultural competencies; ability to work with diverse populations.
Knowledge of University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Proficiency with JumpForward or similar compliance software.
Demonstrated ability to effectively organize and develop a compliance program.
Leadership and supervisory experience.
