The Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, fixed term professional faculty position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the Athletic Director. The mission of the OSU Department of Athletics is to provide opportunity to young people and develop leaders through a tradition of academic and athletic achievement in a progressive, inclusive environment of mutual respect. The Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities & Operations reports to the Deputy Athletic Director (AD) of Internal Operations and is responsible for overseeing the Event Management department of Oregon State Athletics, including day-to-day budget management, performing as the game manager for sports as assigned, including the planning and implementing of all game operation activities. Included in the responsibilities is managing the special events in Athletic department venues. This position will supervise the Director of Event Management, two (2) full-time Event Managers, and the student internship program. This position is responsible for contract management and coordination with outside agencies providing services or equipment for Athletic and University events. This person assists the Deputy AD with day-to-day facilities management and work requests. Will assist, at the request of the Deputy AD, with Capital Project Management. This position maintains up-to-date emergency and event related policies and procedures for the department.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Sports Administration, or related field.
AND
Two (2) years of Event Management & Facility Maintenance Operations experience at an NCAA Division I institution or equivalent.
OR
Five (5) years of Event Management & Facility Maintenance Operations experience at an NCAA Division I institution or equivalent.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in athletic related capital projects.
User-level skills in MS Word, Excel, Publish, Outlook, Access, Publisher, & Illustrator.
Strong team orientation, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interact with all levels of customers, public officials, community groups, administration, and other staff.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 24 months.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Supervisory experience.
