Company Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the Company Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. DESCRIPTION:
The Assignment Editor is responsible for managing newsroom assignments, monitoring phones, coordinating logistics, monitoring scanners and social media. You must have a passion for breaking news. The ideal candidate must have the ability to multi-task and make fast decisions. You will be responsible for dispatching crews to stories and breaking news, using appropriate logistical and journalistic judgment. You will assist in finding stories with emphasis on our key brand points and tracking stories as they develop. You will also deal with time and logistics to make sure the selected stories are covered efficiently with available staff. You will be responsible for updating the stations website and social media platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum two years prior television news assignment editor experience is strongly preferred. However, a significant background in print reporting or radio news will be considered. Successful applicants must have newsroom experience.
