Job TitleArt Director
The Art Director is responsible for executing visually impactful branded content experiences and multi-channel campaigns for our financial and investment clients. He/she will be masterful in translating a client brief and creative vision into modern and innovative visual executions for digital, social, rich media, email, print and emerging platforms.
This hands-on visual creative will partner with the Creative Director, financial content leaders and subject matter experts in generating and executing work that breaks through, drives results, and exceeds client expectations.
S/he will possess experience in finance, investment, and insurance categories and will ideate, design and direct highly conceptual content experiences and campaigns. S/he will be integral in visual content execution and will work with designers to ensure stunning thumb-stopping work. S/he will have an endless appetite to learn and innovate in these verticals as well as others, and will be passionate about discussing and sharing content, design, photography, video, social platform trends with teammates and clients.
S/he will be a strong conceptual thinker with digital storytelling skills in interactive graphics, immersive experiences, and cross channel campaigns.
Essential Job Functions
• Strategize: Work closely with strategy teams to develop creative that is breakthrough and on point
• Ideate: Translate briefs; lead/participate in brainstorms; collaborate with broader teams
• Create: Translate briefs and creative vision into highly impactful and visual creative
• Communicate: Articulate the rationale for creative decision making throughout the process
• Optimize: Assess performance metrics of work and collaborate on optimization
• Manage: Oversee designers, adhere to budgets, adhere to deadlines and workflow processes
• Additional responsibilities:
◦ Direct and create compelling client presentations in PowerPoint
◦ Contribute to thought leadership on accounts
◦ Develop and maintain solid team relationships across disciplines—editorial, technology, account, strategy
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements
Experience:
• 8+ years of progressive creative content and campaign experience (preferably agency side), with significant experience (and portfolio) in digital marketing, cross-channel campaigns, social media
• 3+ years of financial and investment experience and art direction, as well as a demonstration of experience across a variety of verticals
• 3+ years of supervisory experience with proven track record of staff growth and development
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Significant experience with current visual design standards and best practices
• Significant experience (and portfolio) with digital storytelling beyond the article
• Experience with concepting and designing engaging interactive graphics, infographics, videos from concept to storyboard to final edit
• Strong understanding of storytelling and narrative devices and best practices
• Strong conceptual ability
• Experience thinking and directing “in motion:” moving imagery, animation, motion graphics, video
• Strong visual aesthetics: design, color, typography, composition
• Hands on knowledge of the latest design software & technologies (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, HTML/HTML5, CSS)
• Ability to concept, design, prototype with little support if needed
• Ability to translate ideas into compelling client presentations using PowerPoint and Keynote
• Ability to relate to people and effectively communicate across disciplines
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively when sharing work
• Ability to work in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment
