DESCRIPTION
AmazonFresh seeks a brand-focused Art Director to join the Fresh Creative Studio team and help us define the future of grocery shopping. AmazonFresh is a significant and rapidly growing part of Company’s future, providing home grocery delivery service with a broad selection of items including fresh produce, locally sourced meat and seafood, dry goods, and specialty and prepared food. Our fast-growing organization produces best-in-class consumer experiences for AmazonFresh across mobile, tablet and desktop products.
The ideal candidate will be able to evolve, evangelize, and translate the AmazonFresh brand across mediums including style guides, site campaigns, and the customer delivery experience. You constantly seek to understand both the customer’s needs and business goals, and then translate those needs into designs that entice and inform. You have strong organizational skills, web expertise, intrinsic design ability, typographic skills, acute attention to detail, and thrive in an atmosphere of rapid development. You have an impeccable design sense, a keen eye for detail and an obsession for your craft. Collaboration is in your DNA, but you aren’t afraid prioritize, make decisions and communicate with authority.
Responsibilities
• Partner with in-house marketing, copy, and UX teams to define the evolution of the brand and the visual manifestation of that evolution
• Work closely and collaborate with business partners and copywriter to deliver high-quality, scalable, on-brand design solutions
• Produce sketches, graphics, and templates for AmazonFresh merchandising campaigns and promotions
• Partner with delivery experience team to create brand-focused packaging and icon design solutions that are scalable to international locales
• Work with Company’s internal brands team to ensure that all branding meets Company brand specifications
• Work within existing style conventions and create new ones where none exist
• Select and edit/retouch photography for merchandising graphics
• Proactively manage own time and deadlines
• Scope design initiatives and manage/prioritize work items
• Maintain composure in critical situations and communicate clearly with both internal and external customers
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Visual designer or Art Director with at least one year of experience designing for retail web sites
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and relevant digital, print and visual design solutions
• Proficient skill level in the standard tools of the design trade, e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator
• Ability to quickly turn around detailed comps/mockups in an iterative environment
• Strong visual design aesthetic with a bias for simplification
• Unwavering attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Proven ability to work cross-team, lead the design process, and synthesize feedback and input from stakeholders
• The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task
• The ability to work across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Passion for design, web technologies, industry standards and trends
• Knowledge of UX/UI best practices
• Experience defining or maintaining a design style guide or branding guidelines
• Experience planning and art directing photo shoots
• Foodie who is passionate about revolutionizing how people shop for their groceries
