Advertising Production Controller
London
You will be working as part of a team that manages the production of a variety of commercial products including Display, Classified and Sponsorship advertising for a wide range of journals and supplements. The role involves checking the quality of digital artwork, trafficking advertising copy, typesetting and layout of advertising products.
Responsibilities
• Create and update layouts for advertisements and advertorials
• Copy chase and advise advertisers on copy preparation to ensure that the files received are to industry standards
• Manage incoming ad traffic and checking digital files to ensure they are within specification
• Maintain a good relationship with advertising sales and the production departments in New York and Japan to ensure a smooth flow of advertising copy
• Ensure advert positions are correct, based on information from the advertising database, advertising sales and their clients
• Maintain concise database records of advert bookings
• To provide holiday and sickness cover for other Advertising Production Controllers
• Assist the Advertising Production Manager in implementing new systems and controls as required
Experience, skills and qualifications
Essential
• A mature and flexible attitude
• Experienced InDesign and Acrobat Pro user
• Experience with preflighting tools such as Enfocus PitStop
• Strong Mac skills
• Microsoft Office skills to an intermediate level
• Ability to prioritise and work methodically
Desirable
• Good understanding of the print production process
• Experience with xml and/or digital workflows
• Proven track record of dealing with external customers
