Position Summary:
This position directly supports the Ad Sales teams through the development and management of Ad Sales operational strategies, budgets, commercial inventory, forecasting, commercial sponsorships, revenue reports and department policies and procedures. This person is also expected to manage internal communication with each department involved in the sales process to ensure the full attainment of Ad Sales revenue goals.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop, manage and track the Ad Sales expense budget to ensure accurate numbers are reflected internally and externally.
2. Manage and track available inventory, leverage unused inventory, project future consumption trends and provide solutions for oversold situations.
3. Track revenue on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure forecast provided to senior management is accurate.
4. Develop sponsorship packages with unused inventory to ensure maximization of avails.
5. Develop and roll out a tracking system for sponsorships of series, specials, stunts and on-air elements to avoid client and category conflicts from occurring.
6. Develop revenue reports based on the business needs of each sales group to ensure teams have the necessary information to track and project revenue accurately.
7. Develop department policies, procedures and guidelines that will ensure an effective, efficient and productive workflow for all teams.
8. Assist regions in developing pricing models to meet their objectives.
9. Liaison with external departments such as DNI Legal, Finance, Commercial Operations and Traffic to ensure accurate fulfillment of sales agreements.
10. Maintain constant communication with Ad Sales teams to ensure proper tools are being developed to support changing business needs.
11. Responsible for competitive business updates including: current advertisers on competitive networks, rates and sponsorships. Also responsible for recommendations based on that market data and business/industry knowledge.
Requirements:
• Candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a business, sales or financial environment.
• Direct experience in the media industry required.
• College degree in business or finance preferred – if not, equivalent experience required.
• Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word and Power Point a must.
• Hands on experience working in a database management system.
• Candidate should have proven ability to manage and execute multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proven ability to establish positive working relationships with internal and external constituencies and provide excellent customer service.
• Strong analytical and financial skills are a must.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English and Spanish are a must. Portuguese is a strong plus.
