SUMMARY
This position will focus on assisting Target Center’s Finance Department with general accounting duties including journal entry preparation, assisting with month/year-end close process, accounts payable, payroll entries, departmental expense tracking and miscellaneous administrative support.
JOB SPECIFICS
• Perform month and year-end duties including accounting close process adhering to tight deadlines, general ledger activity, and key account reconciliation.
• Reconcile various general ledger accounts.
• Assist Accounts Payable (AP) team with invoice coding and processing.
• Maintain files and related support for Finance Department.
• Update key accounting schedules for event and non-event accrued expenses.
• Track payroll deductions on GL.
• Record monthly pre-paid expenses and reconcile event and non-event prepaid expense accounts.
• Assist Sr. Accountant with monthly reports and schedules.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• 2-year college degree and 1 year of Accounting experience required.
• Understand basics of Accounting principles.
• Discretion in dealing with confidential and delicate materials and information.
• Demonstrate effective organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Possess a high standard of integrity and commitment to quality of work.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint experience required; JD Edwards a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
