DESCRIPTION:
University Relations & Program Specialist
CBS Interactive is seeking a University Relations & Program Specialist to join our dynamic Talent Acquisition team. This individual will be responsible for providing overall leadership to the company’s internship program, including partnering with hiring managers to understand business needs, deepening relationships with our university allies, and ensuring all interns receive an exemplary interview and summer experience. In addition, this role will lead the CBS Interactive corporate social responsibility efforts, CBSi Cares.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead fully integrated university relations program
UR Strategy:
• *Build campus strategy for intern and new grad hiring programs at top US universities
• 'Own’ the CBSi brand on-campus and implement enhanced processes for attracting, developing, and converting interns and recent college graduates.
• Support CBSi diversity efforts by partnering with the TA leader to design and implement effective strategies that align with business goals. Specifically, focusing on initiatives for women, minorities and veterans.
Partnership Management:
• Develop and lead relationships with internal business teams, HR and Finance to determine university headcount and hiring strategies.
• Build a network of contacts and pipeline of talent for future opportunities and maintain relationships through frequent high touch efforts with both students and faculty.
• Enhance relationships with CBSi partners, ‘Emma Bowen Foundation’, ‘Students Rising Above,’ and ‘Making Waves’ and ensure their participation in the summer internship program.
Recruiting:
• Coordinate and attend university campus events.
• High-volume screening, interviewing, scheduling, and on-boarding.
• Maintain relationships with students during the hiring process and assisted with follow through during and after on boarding.
Program Development:
• Act as Program Manager during internship months and ensure the selected interns have an exemplary summer experience.
• Plan intern events and activities, including; high impact assignments, development & networking opportunities, training sessions, social and teambuilding events, coaching and feedback reviews.
• Oversee program logistics for hiring managers and ensure all program requirements are clearly communicated.
• Conduct intern exit interviews and communicate trends/analysis/data points to HR Business Partners and company executives.
• Oversee the ‘conversion’ process of interns at the end of their assignments
1. Lead CBS Interactive "Cares"
• Develop a comprehensive, nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy and provide leadership to CBSi’s efforts, including leading (or forming teams to lead), volunteer and related events at all CBSi locations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• * BA/BS degree required
• * Minimum of three (3) years of HR experience. Experience in HR program management, specializing in campus recruiting or other professional experience in the university relations space is preferred.
• * Ability to quickly form strong business-relationships at all levels
• * Strategic thinker, yet able to translate big-picture plans into actionable tasks
• * Ability to balance multiple priorities and exceptional organization acumen
• * Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively navigate the multiple, complex cultures within CBSi
• * Strong knowledge of the social media, digital and emerging technologies
• Travel during university recruiting season is required
