DESCRIPTION:
The intern will be required to research and implement a functionality update to one of our OTT (over-the-top) video delivery apps. The project will involve working with the product manager to assess requirements and scope of work, as well collaborating with members of the engineering team to design and implement an effective solution. The candidate will learn about CBSSports.com OTT engineering workflow and best-practice, culminating in a release and deployment of the project into production.
Role Responsibilities:
The engineer intern will help build enhancements on the leads platform and build tools, services, and data processes to support our highly trafficked sites. Responsibilities will extend to any of the applications associated with CBS Interactive’s initiatives including both front facing applications and back-end services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience developing software with Java, Python, or PHP.
Knowledge of web development techniques using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Previous exposure to structured Software Development Lifecycle processes and procedures
Technical analytical, debugging and problem-solving skills
Strong desire to learn new technologies and techniques
Solid organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
Ability to establish professional relationships with team members
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related software engineering field
Additional Requirements:
• You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
• You must have at least one academic semester left after Summer 2016
• You must be at least 18 years old
