• Preparation and sterilization of supplies and instruments (as needed)
• Collects data from schedule and utilizes surgeon’s preference cards for choice of materials necessary to carry out assignments
• Maintains stock of OR room

• Assembles cases according to schedule and preference cards.In Pre-Operative Area, introduces self to patient, verifies patient identity, assesses patient’s physical needs, alleviates patient anxiety, clarifies operative site, and checks chart for necessary documentation
• Provides closure of the subcutaneous and skin without the surgeon’s assistance as requested
• Provides care for patient receiving epidural anesthesia
• Provides and controls material, supplies and equipment needed for efficient, successful operation of the Operating Room
• Call time is 30 minutes

• Demonstrates effective communication and critical thinking skills
• Employed as a Full or Part time associate

• National Certification in the Operating Room
• Scrub and GI experience preferred
• Previous OR RN experience
• Perioperative RN Education/ Experience
• Successful completion of a perioperative nursing course including didactic and clinical rotations
• Managing priorities/deadlines
• Or completion in the AORN Periop 101 program/course, or RN new graduate who has completed their OR internship or has clinical experience as a surgical technologist
• Proven experience as operating room nurse (circulating and scrub)
