In my previous role, I was responsible for leadership & expertise in running the Maumelle microbiology laboratory by coordinating microbiological testing and release of finished products, raw materials, manufacturing processes and personnel.

• Knowledge of the laboratory certifications and accreditations to ensure adherence to certification and accreditation requirements to meet regulatory requirements
• Certified medical technologist in the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
• Familiarity of the concepts and theories of microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology along with clinical microbiology/bacteriology
• Experience in molecular techniques and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) along with antimicrobial susceptibility testing
• Understanding of the principles and practices of running an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
• Knowledge of Biosafety Level-3 (BSL-3) practices and a willingness to work under conditions of potential exposure to infectious agents
• Medical doctor / physician with specialism in Clinical Microbiology / Infection Or Clinical scientist with specialism in Microbiology including significant experience in bacteriology Or Senior laboratory scientist with specialism in Microbiology including significant experience in bacteriology
• Appropriate certification and levels of continual professional development in microbiology

• Significant experience working in low- and middle-income settings

• Practical and theoretical knowledge and expertise in clinical microbiology including CLSI/EUCAST procedures and guidelines

• Knowledge of FDA guidelines & the microbiology requirements for regulatory submission of antibacterial agents
• Previous experience with supporting infectious disease clinical trials
• Leadership experience supervising a team
• PhD or MS from an accredited college or university in epidemiology, public health, medical technology, veterinary medicine, preventive medicine, biological, physical, behavioral or environmental sciences
