Responsibilities for Astronomer Cover Letter
Astronomer responsible for the names and email addresses for at least three references within your application.
Have extensive experience in Python and/or C/C++
Demonstrate strong technical writing and presentation skills in order to present data to internal and external customers
Experience with both the Interactive Data Language (IDL) and Python (2 or 3)
Experience with astronomical data processing techniques for ground and space-based observatories, precision astrometry, near-IR polarimetric data products, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo-based inference
Version control software (e.g., subversion, github)
Experience with presenting scientific results through peer-reviewed articles and/or presentations at scientific conferences
Comfortable working with large data sets and databases via tools such as SQL, online catalogs
Have at least 2 first author publications in a peer-reviewed journal
