2014 Mar - 2017 Jan
Associate Designer
DKNY / New York
As associate designer, I completed tech packs for senior team members, as well as being afforded the chance to create my own original designs based on market research and archival exploration. I was the point person for original beading and embellishment designs and logos and graphics. I designed all categories, with a focus on soft wovens, reporting directly to the VP of design. Each season, I played a key role in preparations for our Fashion Week runway show, as well as in-house editorial photo shoots. I worked closely with our Public Relations department on celebrity dressing and capsule collection projects, giving me the chance to push myself creatively in new ways and learn valuable lessons from other industry professionals. To improve the productivity of the design team, I instituted and supervised the design room internship program, recruiting students from both New York and abroad.
2010 Jun - 2014 Mar
Assistant Designer
DKNY / New York
After being granted a full-time position upon my graduation, I was able to gain first-hand experience with a highly talented design team and full in-house atelier. I assisted both the tailored and soft design teams on tech packs and fittings, as well as managing all the day-to-day correspondence with our HK office. I took part in local shopping trips, finding inspiration for ideas across all categories and sourced specialty trim items to further elaborate on their creation. I was also responsible for creation and upkeep of all design charts, making sure records were clear and accurate for optimal visibility of each seasonal line.
