Piraquê was found in 1950 and is the industry leader in the pasta and cookie segments for more than 40 years. Employing more than 5.000 people, 600 salesmen and two plants ( one, with the state of the art technology, opened in 2016.
High Technology is also employed in its quality control lab, from the input material to the finished product. All of this to guarantee a fresh product to its more than 60.000 points of sale, only in the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The heart of Piraquê is it's control room: every pasta, cookie is controlled by computers, form the very beginning to the very end, where the products are packed and ready to be delivered or stocked in our automatic warehouse, capable of loading 30 trucks simultaneously. The high automation guarantees that nobody ever touches the product: a seal of good hygiene.
High technology at the Piraquê plants can be noticed from the thousands of sensors spread across all of the plants.
All of this makes Piraquê a world renowned for its product quality, brand recognition and its work.
As an Executive Director, I was responsible for the entire IT Operations. From day one an assessment of the entire IT staff, Internal Systems, IT Security and needs, along with several interviews with key area partners and internal clients was made to elaborate an action plan and a SWOT analysis.
From day one several cost saving measures were taken, from renegotiating to simply cancelling unneeded contracts.
The internal IT Staff was strengthened and real information started flowing the area Directors that were my colleagues, allowing them to make better decisions.
An evaluation of the internal ERP was done, as well as sourcing for another ERP system.
Several projects implemented, such as empowering the workforce with tablets and better communication, reducing printing costs, refactoring of old systems, etc.

The company pioneered in offering financial education accessible to individuals and created the largest program in the industry in Brazil. More than 500,000 people have attended the program aimed at educating on subjects ranging from personal finances through advanced strategies for investing.
XP's proposal is to offer a financial shopping to customers, with a diversity of products purchased within a few clicks. The more than 1500 XP's investment agents form an extensive distribution network of financial products, present in more than 140 cities and 22 states. The group also has the Insurance Broker XP Seguros and XP Gestão de Recursos, an Asset Manager established in 2005. It also includes the educational arm XP Educação ( with 5.000 new students attending 500 courses, monthly), XP Interfloat that offers exclusive services to professional traders and XP Capital Markets, with services to institutional clients.
Led the IT department (Software Development, Infrastructure, Security and Telecom), reporting to the CEO, with over 110 employees under supervision. Member of the Board of Directors.
At XP, the huge rate of growth was the real problem: systems were not made for the size that the company grew to. The needed to address that was urgent and that was my main objective there. Budget had to be increased so as the direct and indirect hires. A new technology and development method were chosen to increase the pace and add more value for our internal and external customers. The excellent results were published as a Microsoft case over the Microsoft Global page.
Telecommunication costs were driven down by approximate 10%, by optimizing contracts with carriers and cancelling unused services.
