Summary

Grew up between footwear factory and tanneries. My involvement in leather construction and finishing supports my passion/creativity for footwear development and design. I have strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. I take pride in my proactive, highly motivated and flexible approach to work. Being knowledgeable in a variety of shoes construction, with a strong affinity for real classic Italian traditional handcraft, allows me to view product through the commercial lens for high end customers. Manage and execute the footwear development process for developing prototype and samples, from initial concept through commercialization and production. Working with design team and creative director to convert a sketch into a three-dimensional sample that meets the correct design, fit and quality. Engineering the samples to guarantee manufacturability, cost and timing through the production process.

FOOTWEAR DEVELOPMENT

  • Last Development: Works with design and Technical team to initiate and oversee the development of lasts based upon desired aesthetic, performance, comfort and fit while maximizing use of existing last library.
  • Design analysis: with designers
  • Upper Development and Industrialization: Pattern maker (handmade and CAD 2D/3D) development manages upper for yield, manufacturability, fit, function, cost and desired design.
  • Material and Construction - Coordinates and maintains material and structural specifications as well as the follow through on the testing of each individual component to maintain standards for quality and elegance.
  • Costing Objectives – Manages costing objectives for assigned projects and works with design to achieve project goals. This entails supplying necessary information needed for pre-costing exercises during review of product briefs, through tech. package development and final pricing of confirmation standards.
  • Coordinate with design on leather for all concepts seasonally
  • Spearhead all leather development (Leather/Fur/Exotic)
  • Vendor liaison (existing & new): Leather selection/development (within budget)
