  • I was offered an opportunity to return to the USA to create and manage a global division for GSH Group, responsible firstly for business development, building required infrastructure and creating in-country business subsidiaries globally
  • Once new business was won, all functions including operations, sales, marketing, procurement, finance, human resources, health and safety were established and global policies were implemented (while also recognizing in-country legislation)
  • The first client secured covered 92 buildings worldwide, a detailed and stringent mobilization plan proved critical to what was a successful 3 month period, allocating regional management to provide in-country services as per requirements
  • Redesigned GSH current CMMS systems to expand and allow for effective global client reporting
  • Led an internal project to revolutionize GSH Marketing Strategy, including refreshed branding, new website and social media content and effective ongoing communications policies
  • Launched a UK Subsidiary as per the GSH Board request, managing the media process to launch 'boldly' while organizing launch events including meeting with the UK Houses of Parliament
  • Responsible for all high-cost spend and procurement activity across all divisions, ensuring due diligence in all spending

Key Achievements

  • In a 3 year period, the division met profit levels at an incomparable measure with other GSH Divisions (20% more)
  • GSH went from having an American and Indian base to delivering global services in over 35 countries worldwide
  • Secured second major contract which gave GSH single source status for all buildings globally (200+ worldwide with aggressive future growth plans)
  • Developed mobilization templates for contract setups to ensure full compliance and rigid processes for seamless implementation and client satisfaction

  • I relocated back to the UK to mobilize and manage our biggest contracted procurement client base in company history
  • I managed a team of 15 people who were dedicated to providing category procurement strategies across client divisions
  • Together, the team and I were responsible for all commercial and financial negotiations across the client supply chain with a spend value of £275m+
  • Reporting directly into client's Group Board I provided monthly presentations on procurement performance and initiatives
  • With over 150 plus senior client stakeholders my role heavily consisted of stakeholder management including monthly divisional MD Board meetings ensuring procurement benefits were being implemented into client operations effectively
  • Responsible for all UK business unit P/L's, it was important that as a team we understood critical business objectives and supported each other to ensure these were met, with this, job satisfaction was a key criteria in order for the team to remain unified, motivated and successful
  • The Optimum Group Board and I continued to work closely on potential procurement client's, telecommunications strategy and proposals, updating policies, re-forecasting, growth acceleration and new service line consultancy opportunities
  • I continued my duties as President of Optimum Procurement Inc. and managed the American subsidiary visiting quarterly to carry-out internal management, client procurement reviews as well as internal meetings with investors, lawyers and accountants. I also continued to supervise all ICT related client projects across ourportfolio

Key Achievements

  • My team successfully managed a 'phase 1' (6wk) implementation which included meeting a savings target of £6m, we produced and implemented savings of £7.5m which were realized in the client's year-end accounts, significantly boosting their financial trading year results
  • Q1 savings target was £1.8m, actual savings achieved were £2.4m which vastly supported their in-year cash objectives
  • We rationalized the supply chain from 5,304 to 2,118 by categorizing suppliers effectively and creating preferred providers to drive leveraged opportunity, this created back-office efficiencies and encouraged complianceand control restrictions
  • Implemented an innovative telemetry application for improved asset management which tracks equipment across all contracts providing a lean and efficient portfolio, easy maintenance scheduling, headcount and downtime reductions, saving £2m+ per year
  • Due to our ongoing performance, the client's other regions were implementing Optimum Procurement in Europe/Australia
  • Structured a selection of graduates, existing staff and new employees in 1 month to mobilize and deliver effectively
  • I was awarded a project to deliver a long-term global ICT call management system strategy for a serviced office provider who have grown rapidly in the last five years and who are now expanding internationally and require a fit for purpose ICT strategy globally covering 65 locations

Registered, setup and continued to manage Optimum Procurement Inc. as a subsidiary of the UK business, I relocated to the USA to launch our American operations and then mobilized and managed our growing client portfolio

  • Headed our major client teams and presented supply chain strategies and saving recommendations to support the client's strategic growth across the USA
  • With my colleagues support I advise the client's Board of Directors and supported commercial bids, controlled a rationalized supply chain and eliminated potential risks by implementing a supply chain policy and stringent procedures
  • Managed a client's global telecommunications project for designing and implementing a new on-road PDA process, cloud based platform and integration of CMMS systems including scheduling, billing and routeplanning
  • Continue to manage all financial, visa and legal implications of the businesssubsidiary located in New Jersey

Key Achievements

  • Setup and ran a successful and profitable business in a foreign country independent to the UK business
  • Replaced an existing fragmented global telephony supply chain with a preferred supply chain including only two providers across 36 countries. This averaged savings of over 55% across all countries and implemented a much needed global device control policy
  • Developed and successfully won a legal case regarding contractual breach for a fixed line telephony system, saving 25% of cost and triggering a significant financial penalty pay-back for our client
  • Negotiated and implemented a converged telecommunications contract saving 63% on national companyspend
  • Negotiated and mobilized a janitorial contract at John Hopkins hospital, Baltimore saving 17% and implemented control improvements
  • Mobilized an FM contract at Baltimore and Washington International airport, ensuring the supply chain partners were legally back- to-back on contracts to avoid the client being liable for performance penalties

This included carrying out free of charge opportunity assessments for potential new clients, this proved a successful income channel as our delivery was based on a savings gainshare model. Our provider arrangements also allowed for pre-agreed rates which allowed us to provide proposals quickly to our client base
  • Multiple telecommunication projects resulted in significant savings averaging at 76% across portfolios. Services included global telecommunications convergence including mobile, fixed, managed solutions, networks and critical data backup
  • Created and implemented policies and processes across services requiring telemetry innovation; including fleet management systems, driver intelligence software, CMMS cloud applications, PDA to tablet transfers and utilizing smartphonetechnology

Heavily relied upon to keep the client solvent during a period of selling the business, this was a significant achievement where suppliers hadn't been paid for over 6 months causing distress while needing to also boost company P/E level

  • Managed several multi million pound supply categories for a client within the Facilities Management sector, here I worked with various stakeholders to build and engage a relationship between the client and my team. While building trust the team and I recommended high profile savings which exceeded the client's expectation
  • Built and rationalized suitable supply chain solutions for each category of spend and negotiated preferred supplier rates and agreements to enable the client to benefit from the most competitive market rates
  • Liaised with operations on new client mobilizations and ensured an efficient and trusted supply chain

Key Achievements

  • Managed a cradle-to-grave tender project which successfully delivered an 82% saving on a European telecommunications contract (£2.5m). This included managing multiple IT stakeholders, coordinating suppliers for consolidation and ensuring final negotiations complemented the client's financial needs which included taking cash sums up-front (£800k)
  • Negotiated and mobilized over 45 preferred suppliers and rationalized the supply base by 64%

  • I was a European negotiator for major product pricing, service level agreements and annual contracts with supply base for several industrial material commodities, formulating all individual supplier and plant strategies
  • Managed numerous commodity suppliers and key account managers throughout Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo and (pre-sale) Aston Martin, here I developed and implemented European strategic business plans based on the requirements of each plant/unit
  • Conducted supplier market tests/benchmarking and managed commodity project launches for all European plants
  • One of my key objectives was to heavily contribute to the Emerging Market Sourcing Committee by saving $35m.

Key Achievements

  • Responsible for three successful multi-million dollar European market tests for the Personal Protection Safety commodity (extremely sensitive within Ford PAG) totaling a $3.5m saving
  • Responsible for a robust Industrial Gas Supply Chain project which achieved 12% saving across ten UK plants
