As the Vice President of Consumer Marketing, you are responsible for leading the client service for your assigned consumer marketing accounts at Mitchell. This position requires extensive experience in food and consumer brands, account management, leading collaborative teams and building solid relationships with targeted media outlets and lifestyle editors. You are also expected to work collaboratively across the agency to ensure clients receive the best integrated marketing and communications solutions for their business.
This position is in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Responsibilities
• Lead strategic direction on all public relations and media designed for assigned accounts.
• Provide strategic counsel to clients; establish and build key client relationships.
• Oversee and lead a wide variety of communications programs across multiple channels that meet client objectives.
• Lead the development of plans, proposals, results reports, creative briefs and other communications documents.
• Maintain relationships with key media outlets and editors, establish/seek new relationships with emerging media/contributors/editors.
• Organize, direct and collaborate effectively across teams to achieve results.
• Spearhead new business initiatives and take the lead of specific new business efforts, acting as an integral part of the pitch team, presenting recommendations to prospects.
• Keep current with overall consumer marketing trends while advancing our expertise in new media and marketing applications.
• Take an active role in managing staff. Provide motivation, goal setting and timely, consistent feedback for direct reports. Provide career management and oversee the professional growth of staff by building and fostering a work environment that yields strong individual and team performance.
• Where appropriate, maintain routine contact with people of authority in the clients' organizations. Regularly seek client feedback on the team's performance.
• Actively contribute original, innovative thinking as an agency though-leader.
Qualifications
• BA in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field
• A minimum of 10 years of communications experience along with an agency and/or corporate background in integrated marketing, public relations, communications, advertising or digital communications
• Experience in participating in all phases of new business from ideation and program development to presentation and implementation
• Proven leader with experience designing and implementing initiatives through a variety of channels such as traditional media, bloggers, social and digital media and emerging online platforms
• Experience executing integrated digital and traditional campaigns
• Experience managing project financials, timelines and budgets
• Committed to consistently meeting and exceeding the highest gold standards of client service. Must be proactive and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Broad knowledge of consumer audiences and stakeholder groups
• Ability to access and leverage consumer insights to make strategic recommendations and develop campaign concepts
• Superior client service skills; ability to manage multiple clients and projects
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a collegial and collaborative environment
• Understanding of the agency and consumer marketing communications environment
• Strong written and oral presentation skills
• A good listener, counselor and team player who can build strong relationships both internally and externally
• An active social networker and consumer of emerging media
