HealthFitness has a great opportunity for an Executive Director, Product to work at our corporate office located in Lake Forest, IL. This Executive Director, Product role is responsible for creating a product/solution vision and strategic plan that thoughtfully translates market needs into offerings, actionable business plans and product roadmaps to support company strategic and financial targets. This position serves as the product leader for an emerging, high-growth product offering portfolio and is responsible for the end to end product lifecycle. This position is expected to drive collaboration and alignment with all key stakeholders to develop an executable product line business plan. Success in this role will be based on ability to develop and manage a strong, aligned product vision, business plan tied to strategic, business, and financial targets.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Planning/Solutioning/Alignment:
• Develops and manages the solution business model and business plan for respective product/solution offering
• Maps company strategy and business objectives to the product roadmap
• Leads, directs and fosters efforts for designated product market by facilitating alignment, creating action and inspiring innovation across key company departments/stakeholders
• Establishes expectations and thresholds for quality, operations and service performance
• Identifies opportunities for new markets, partnerships and/or acquisitions
• Aligns revenue plan to cost center to investment portfolio
Solution/Product Design – Development and Management Discipline:
• Delivers on short term/annual priorities plus ensuring cross-departmental alignment for execution of 3 to 5 year roadmap
• Directs pricing philosophy and market approach; Monitors key product portfolio financial measures
• Synthesizes and communicates portfolio level strategy to Product Managers
• Directs and provides requirements to applicable departments for new product launches to support roadmap deliverables
• Defines and leverages market and consumer intelligence; market segmentation, market sizing and persona definitions to ensure our products and services meet market demand and demonstrate value to our customers
• Reports on progress and success of entire product portfolio for areas of responsibility; metrics support data driven decisions.
Product Management:
• Monitors and manages product performance by establishing KPIs and performance models
• Identifies, assesses and responds to product performance issues and opportunities
• Establishes and maintains critical relationships with internal and external product partners to ensure predictable and desired product performance
Solution/Product Expertise and Thought Leadership, Market Analysis:
• Represent HealthFitness at designated trade shows and industry conferences
• Collaboration with Science and Analytics for research and white papers
• Strategic sales support/support Business development efforts to maximize new and expansion business opportunities
Education, Experience & Certifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree and ten or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination education and experience.
• Demonstrated success in delivering products from concept through launch; innovative thinking and execution.
• Strong product proficiency; ability translate strategy into solutions and to articulate value and product differentiation.
• Strong business modeling and financial management acumen including a proven track record in managing products or solutions, meeting or exceeding financial and strategic objectives. Leverages
• results and data driven decisions and actions.
• Proven record to achieve results and lead across a matrixed organization including the ability to lead, influence and drive cross-departmental outcomes and decisions.
• Excellent cross-functional facilitation skills. Excels at collaborating and achieving results in a matrixed organization without direct authority.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and negotiation skills, including the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Relentless focus on customer satisfaction and value.
• Strong listening and comprehension skills, including the ability to identify underlying market and customer needs and translate those needs into product and service solutions.
• Change agility, demonstrated ability to problem solve and navigate situations where uncertainty is inherent.
• Proficiency in technology use and best practices; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel up to 25% - 35%, including overnight stays; may be more or less based on work location.
Preferred:
• Masters’ degree or MBA or related discipline.
• Direct health and wellness industry experience highly preferred.
• Experience with delivery direct to customer using a people centric delivery model.
• Conceptual and strategic marketing skills.
