Responsible for monitoring all areas of compliance with NCAA, MAC and WCHA rules and regulations on behalf of BGSU, its faculty, staff, student-athletes and persons with BGSU athletics interest; certify initial and continuing student-athlete eligibility; coordinate grant-in-aid activities; and assist in the in the long-term planning and evaluation for the department.
Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Disseminate compliance rules information as needed; implement, control and monitor procedures for student-athlete recruitment; interact with administrative staff members and coaches to ensure compliance communication and help review all departmental activities that may jeopardize its NCAA/MAC/WCHA good standings. This position will collaborate with various entities on campus including Student Financial Aid, Bursar’s Office and Residence Life among others.
• Coordinate the certification of initial eligibility and continuing eligibility for incoming and returning student-athletes. Assist as needed with the NCAA Eligibility Center and with the NCAA on various eligibility issues. Assist with the facilitation of the transfer evaluation process.
• Complete the approval of prospective student-athletes for official and unofficial visits through the NCAA Initial Eligibility Center. Help coaches project initial eligibility of incoming prospective student-athletes. Responsible for collection of all paperwork (e.g., official/unofficial visits, recruiting logs, expense reports, transfer recruitment) on official visits to ensure compliance with NCAA guidelines. • Provide comprehensive rules education programming and legislative interpretations for coaches, staff, student-athletes and important constituents on and off campus.
• Assist in preparing mandatory NCAA, MAC and WCHA and institutional reports, including compiling NCAA Academic Performance Program data as well as Compliance Assistant software reports and violation/waiver reports.
• Monitor team rosters and approve all aspects of playing and practice season rules (e.g., practice logs, season declarations).
• Manage the Director of Compliance, Compliance Graduate Assistant and other temporary support staff, as available.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
Also required, must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and comply with the university’s vehicle use policy and the following experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience in athletics, compliance, higher education or a related field.
